Michiel van Dijk: Central Asia 2007

Photos: Prelude, Feb 2007-Apr 2007

1. Singapore.
Chingay Parade on Orchard Road to celebrate
Chinese New Year. We visited friends and family
and ate a lot!
2. Netherlands.
Arrived with a throat infection and unable
to speak....grrrr! Surprised my sister and
visited friends and family. The weather was
not so nice. In Amsterdam we went to see the
Anne Frank House (at last); this picture though
shows the roof garden of the Bijenkorf,
a wellknown shoppingcenter.
3. Heidelberg, Germany.
We went by train and visited friends here.
The weather turned beautiful, good for strolls
high up along the river and through the old
city center and castle.
4. Berlin, Germany.
By budget flight, with drink and snack!
Had a nice reunion with former colleagues
and revisited some sites. I finally got
to see the finished project of parliamentary
offices that we worked on.
5. British Museum, London.
You can easily spend days in this
fascinating museum. Especially the
Egyptian and Middle Eastern collection
was impressive; the nicely roofed courtyard
had a good atmosphere.
6. Greenwhich, London.
We are both standing on different sides
of the 0 degrees meridian.
7. Diving Koh Chang, Thailand.
At last I did my open water diving course.
What better place to do than on my first
discovered paradise (12 years ago) and with
the diving school set up by an old Belgian
friend of mine. Great time.

Let's go:
